Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using dupes.gg (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and dupes.gg. Your continued use of the Service following any modifications to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Description of Service

dupes.gg is an online marketplace platform that facilitates the buying and selling of user-generated dupe files (".dupe" files) designed for use within the S&Box game environment. The Service provides tools for creators to upload, list, and sell their dupe files, and for buyers to discover, purchase, and download those files. dupes.gg acts solely as an intermediary platform and does not create, endorse, or guarantee the quality of any content listed on the marketplace.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must sign in using your Steam account. By signing in, you authorize us to access and use certain information from your Steam profile, including your display name, avatar, and Steam ID. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use the Service. If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

4. Listing and Selling

Creators may list dupe files for sale on the marketplace subject to the following conditions:

• A one-time, non-refundable listing fee of $1.00 USD is required for each dupe file listed on the marketplace. The listing will not be published until the listing fee is paid.
• Creators receive 90% of the sale price for each purchase. The remaining 10% is retained by dupes.gg to cover payment processing fees and platform maintenance.
• You represent and warrant that you are the original creator of any dupe files you upload, or that you have obtained all necessary rights and permissions to sell the content. You retain all intellectual property rights to your original content.
• You grant dupes.gg a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote your listed content on the platform for the purpose of facilitating sales.
• The minimum listing price is $0.50 USD. Prices must be set in US dollars.
• dupes.gg reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these Terms, contains prohibited content, or is the subject of a valid intellectual property complaint.

5. Purchasing

By purchasing a dupe file on dupes.gg, you agree to the following conditions:

• You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to download and use the purchased dupe file for your own personal use within the S&Box game.
• You agree not to share, redistribute, resell, or pirate any purchased dupe files. This includes but is not limited to uploading purchased files to other websites, sharing them in public or private forums, transferring them to other users, or making them available through any other distribution channel.
• Violation of the anti-piracy terms will result in immediate and permanent termination of your account, forfeiture of any purchased content, and may result in legal action.
• All purchases are subject to our Refund Policy.

6. Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited on dupes.gg:

• Stolen, plagiarized, or reuploaded content. Any dupe you did not personally create, or for which you do not hold full distribution rights.
• Malicious files. Files containing malware, viruses, exploits, backdoors, keyloggers, cryptominers, or any code intended to harm, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to a player's system or game.
• Cheats, hacks, exploits, and griefing tools. Dupes designed to crash servers, bypass server rules, exploit game mechanics, lag-bomb other players, spawn-trap, evade admins, or otherwise disrupt fair play.
• IP-infringing content. Recreations or derivatives of copyrighted brands, characters, logos, or trademarks (e.g. real-world car manufacturers, film franchises, game studios) that you do not have written permission to redistribute.
• Hateful, illegal, or NSFW content. Including but not limited to: hate symbols, racial slurs, content sexualizing minors, content depicting real-world violence or terrorism, drug references, or pornographic material.
• Defamatory or harassing content. Dupes targeting specific individuals, including impersonations, doxxing tools, or content designed to humiliate.
• Non-functional or fake listings. Empty .dupe files, placeholder uploads, files that are not legitimate S&Box dupes, files modified to include non-dupe content, or listings using misleading screenshots/videos that do not represent the actual dupe.
• Spam and manipulation. Duplicate listings, smurf accounts, fake reviews, sock-puppet purchases, price manipulation, or any other behavior intended to game the marketplace.
• Misleading metadata. Tags, names, or descriptions that misrepresent the actual content of the dupe.

dupes.gg reserves the absolute right to remove, unpublish, or refuse any listing at any time, for any reason or for no reason at all, with or without notice and without obligation to refund the listing fee. This includes (but is not limited to) listings flagged by our review team, reported by users, automatically detected as suspicious, or that we determine — in our sole discretion — are not a good fit for the marketplace. Repeat or severe violations will result in permanent account termination, forfeiture of pending payouts, and a Steam-ID-level ban from the platform.

7. Payments

All payments on dupes.gg are processed securely through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By making a purchase or receiving payments through the Service, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. dupes.gg does not store your full payment card information. All financial data is handled directly by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS compliance standards. Prices are displayed and charged in US dollars (USD).

8. Refund Policy

Please refer to our Refund Policy for detailed information regarding refunds on purchases and listing fees. Due to the digital nature of the goods sold on dupes.gg, all sales are generally considered final.

9. Intellectual Property

Creators retain all intellectual property rights to their original dupe files and associated content (screenshots, descriptions). By listing content on dupes.gg, creators grant the platform a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote the content for the purpose of operating the marketplace. This license terminates when the creator removes their listing from the platform, except as necessary to fulfill prior sales obligations. The dupes.gg name, logo, and platform design are the intellectual property of dupes.gg and may not be used without express written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, dupes.gg, its owners, operators, affiliates, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. dupes.gg's total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid to dupes.gg in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. dupes.gg is not responsible for the quality, accuracy, safety, or legality of any user-generated content listed on the marketplace.

11. Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

dupes.gg is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Facepunch Studios, S&Box, Valve Corporation, Steam, or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates. S&Box, Steam, and related trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Use of these names on dupes.gg is for identification purposes only and does not imply any endorsement or affiliation.

12. Modification of Terms

dupes.gg reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Terms on the Service. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes, such as through a notice on the website. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for updates.
